Kurdistan Region President’s Message for New Year
In his New Year message, Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani expressed his hope that 2015 will be a year of prosperity and happiness for the people of Kurdistan, and the end of terror and fundamentalism.
He pied tribute to the brave peshmerga who sacrificed their lives fighting against the ISIS terrorists.
The President also expressed his hope that in 2015, all IDPs and refugees in Kurdistan will return to their homes.
Dr. Mohammad Seddigh Ahmad (jegarkhwein) Talk with Iranian Diplomacy: Mr. Barzani Announced by an Important Message that he would Fight Terrorists to his last Breathing Moment
Ardeshir Pashang from Iranian Diplomacy conducted an interview with Dr. Mohammad Seddigh Ahmad, the deputy-representative of KRG of Iraq in Iran concerning military confrontation of KRG with ISIS of which important lines as followed:
Mohammad Seddigh Ahmad (Jegarkhwein) the deputy-representative of KRG of Iraq while mentioning that presently the war conditions indicate the strength and sturdiness of the deployment of Pishmerga military forces and their being strengthened with heavy weapon announced superiority Pishmega forces in conflict front with extremist terrorists and Takfiri of ISIS in present condition and said: the will and the ability of Pishmerga forces to defend Kurdistan, Kurdish and Iraqi people are so strong; these forces have lots of experiences of classic and specially guerilla wars; therefore the broad area of over 1500km of fronts and confrontation with suicidal attacks require special situations that luckily Pishmerga forces have gained the power. Whereas I should say this news that during recent days Kurdish Pishmerga have been able to inflict the most hit and human losses on ISIS which has been so considerable as compared with late couple weeks.
He continued to say by Mr. Barzani’s order to call reserved forces to support military operation against ISIS and then added that military operation of USA could inflict great hit on ISIS and we hope it to be continued.
Dr. Ahmad continued that in spite of public, military and political power KRG is not such powerful in economic and presently cannot accept refugees over 1million. He went on that all Iraq’s and the Region’s friends and allies including Iran have helped this government. Some Kurdish authorities appreciated Tehran due to these aides. In addition Dr. Ahmad while mentioning Mr. Yunosi’s talk, special assistant of the president in tribal and religious affairs said: I am so pleased that he as the representative of Iran government announced his position and opinion about sustained losses against Kurds and following dangers and this support has caused us to be happy and warm.
The deputy-representative of KRG of Iraq in Iran about the soon fall of Shengal and Zumar said firstly these two towns were under the control of Iraq army, secondly Pishmerga forces presence was limited in these towns and at last unusual kind of ISIS attack typically accompanied with unrecorded violence and cruelty against civilians was considered the reason of the fall.
He said major withdraws of KRG were in the regions which regarding military geography were less important and were carried out on a completely limited level and according to definite military tactics to save civilians’ lives. At last he deemed the civilians’ conditions of Shengal mounts so painful and bitter and said about the emergence of human disaster of Izadi Kurdish refugees in this mount. He added that this disastrous condition had a nationwide reflection; and even followed the announcement of Security Council. He said many of old people and children have lost their lives for killing heat, thirstiness and hungriness. Now most of them due to air-aiding on the behalf of the USA and Iraq forces have been transferred to a safe place.
Nazem Dabbagh Talk with Dana Press: Iran Given the most Help to Kurdistan Region/ We Have no Relationship with Israel
Concerning the phenomena of ISIS as a nowadays problem of the Middle East Dana Press carried out an interview with Nazem Dabbagh of which the main says as followed:
In Mr. Dabbagh’s view the phenomena of Takfiris have been created as a result of some events and accidents. Firstly it was due to religious differences and the west and east confrontation after the World War II. Western countries generated Takfiri groups to resist against the Soviet Union. In his view ISIS is the result of Taliban fall in Afghanistan, of Arabian spring soon changed to fall as well as of the survivors of Ba’ath party. In Iraq the mismanagement of Nuri Al-Maliki also played an important role for ISIS to emerge. To put aside the Sunnite from power and the political differences with Kurds laid the groundwork for those to tend toward ISIS so that the one hundred-thousand army of Iraq could not prevented them to enter Mosul and Takrit. The increasing power of ISIS caused Iran and Europe cooperation with Kurdistan Region of Iraq against ISIS.
ISIS is outcome of Takfiris, Ba’ath and Ekhvanis. Ekhvanis have a post in Iraq and are supported by neighboring countries like Turkey and Qatar. He added that the members of ISIS have come from different countries to Syria and Iraq. Since they have not any attachment and relations they begin to act criminally. Ba’aths also want to take revenge from Kurds and Shia, nevertheless they accompany ISIS. Thus he believes that ISIS is near to fall. Therefore he does not know useful to form the temporary coalitions, but confronting with ISIS should be permanent. Dabbagh believes that the countries like Saudi Arabia and Israel tend Iraq to be weakened. Nevertheless to improve the conditions the political thoughts in Baghdad must change. Indeed as Haydar Al-Ebadi coming to power than Nuri Maliki the conditions of Iraq will not change. In Dabbagh’s view Nuri Al-Maliki mistake was his unification with Ba’ath. Therefore the same Ba’aths accompanied with the Army for which $27 billion was spent could not resist against ISIS. It is nine months that Maliki has cut Kurdistan budget while Pishmerga forces are resisting bravely against ISIS. However, Dabbagh is not so optimistic to thought changing in Iraq. In addition concerning Mr. Barzani’s phrases about holding referendum to get independent from Iraq, he said this is Kurdish nation’s desire. Therefore Mr. Taliban wanted to correctly perform the Constitutes of Iraq than the independence. If not so, Kurds have the right to state their fortune. Dabbagh said this time is the Arabians’ turn to try for unification. Dabbagh also added that in spite of Israel tendency to have a relationship with Kurds we have no relation with them, though. At last Dabbagh said the conditions of confrontation with ISIS will change to the benefit to Pishmerga.
Nazem Dabbagh Put in a Special Talk with Etemad/ We Expect Promises to be Met

Mr. Nazem Dabbagh the representative of KRG of Iraq in Iran continuously having clear and sharp literature in analyzing the conditions of Iraq as presenting in the pavilion of Etemad in a short talk proceeded with describing the conditions of Iraq after the new government having formed, the practical positions of fighting ISIS in Iraq and Syria as well as analyzing the recent political moves in the crisis of Syria as followed:
In Dabbagh’s view Kurdish, Iraqi and Arabian political leaders’ endeavors was effective. The new government was formed by the participation of powerful Sunni, Kurdish and Shia personifications and that is why a new stage has occurred in Iraq policy-making and peaceful power-transition. Therefore these positive political accomplishments must be accompanied with thought-changing. New political thought should represent itself in political-administrative policy-making.
About hopeful results of bilateral negotiations Dabbagh said: in spite of visiting authorities and leaders and Fuad Masum himself in special, the president of Iraq, as of a yet the negotiations have not gained any result though. He continued that the KRG does follow constitute of Iraq and the promises being made and to solve the problems cording this. Therefore unfortunately after two months we did not observed the useful results. About the promises neglected by Baghdad government he added: the problems will be solved at some points; 1- the oil regulation 2- Pishmerga regulations 3- the article 140 and 4- the regulations of the relations between KRG and Iraqi United government. Seemingly to solve each problems it was agreed to do so within three months but for the article 140 four months. Therefore after two months nothing special has happened. He considered the root of this crisis in mismanagement of former government of Iraq.
In a response to a question about the lack of equal opportunity among the Region’s forces to exploit international aids according to the policy of Kurdistan Region and of the secretary of Iraq there is the necessary synchronization or else they could fight ISIS. Finally, concerning the Kubani news, Dabbagh said: the condition of Kubani has greatly varied when Pishmerga forces joined it and ISIS have been obliged to withdraw which surly have resulted from the people of the region specially Kubanian women.
Nazem Dabbagh Visit the Pavilion of Dana News Agency in Media Exhibition: It must Expected ISIS to be destroyed soon
Nazem Dabbagh the representative of KRG of Iraq in Iran mentioning the conditions of Iraq said of ISIS to stay in this country. According to the report of Dana News Agency Strategic Group (Dana News) the representative of Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq in the response to question that why as new government if Iraq has been formed, no special move has not been made to react ISIS said: the concern of ISIS is not just for today, but it has a root in the past. The appearance of ISIS is a result and till the causes occur ISIS will remain. It is not just Shia or Kurds to be able to fight against ISIS. Now in Iraq, in practice, there has been tribal struggling. This group will be vanished only if the Sunnites of Iraq has a serious participation in it.
About Haydar Al-Ebadi’s government he said: something important that has happened is the outstanding presence of Sunni beside Shia and Kurds in his government and the condition of Sunni has got better. But notice that this participation is the first step and the presence of them in the Army is the next. About the future of ISIS he said: in my opinion ISIS will not be vanished soon as it may get smaller.
China’s Vice Foreign Minister opens Consulate General in his first trip to Kurdistan
Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Iraq (dfr.krg.org) – In the presence of Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani, China’s Vice Foreign Minister, Zhang Ming, officially opened China’s consulate general in Erbil today.
Prime Minister Barzani in his speech applauded the decision of the government of China to open its consulate general in Erbil. He said, “Opening the consulate general of the People’s Republic of China in the Kurdistan Region is the first step towards building mutually beneficial relations. This will provide a great opportunity for both sides to explore areas of potential cooperation. The opening of this office will help us to benefit from the rich and successful experience of China in all fields.”
Prime Minister Barzani also thanked China for providing humanitarian assistance to the Kurdistan Region and hoped that the opening of this office would result in further humanitarian aid as well as military assistance in the fight against terrorism.
Vice Foreign Minister Ming in his speech thanked the KRG for the assistance provided in the opening of China’s consulate general. He said, “The opening of our consulate general in Erbil expresses our strong support for the political process in Iraq. It is a sign of our strong desire to further deepen and strengthen our bilateral ties with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in various fields.”
Mr Ming commended the role of the KRG in preserving the stability of the region and voiced the willingness of the Chinese government to contribute to this stability and to provide further humanitarian assistance.
Commenting on the opening ceremony of China’s consulate general in Erbil, Minister Falah Mustafa stated, “This is the beginning of a new chapter in an important, mutually beneficial relationship that will benefit the people and the government of both China and the Kurdistan Region.”
Mr. Banglin, China’s Consul General, said that China is eager to develop its relations with Kurdistan Region and take part in this development, particularly in the infrastructural, economic, commercial and cultural domains.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior KRG officials, China’s ambassador to Iraq, members of the diplomatic community, as well as representative of Chinese companies in the Kurdistan Region.
President Barzani Reiterates Support for Christians in Iraq
In his annual Christmas and New Year message, Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani reassured the Christian community in Iraq that the KRG would continue to provide protection and shelter to them and other communities fleeing the barbaric and terrorist group ISIS.
“I would like to emphasize that the Christian community is a key component of this country and I understand their pains and suffering. I reassure them that there is no place for terrorism, violence and barbarity; we have all been witnessing how the brave peshmerga have inflicted heavy defeats on ISIS terrorists and have liberated most areas under their control,” said the President in his message.
The President also urged the Christians to stay in the country. “Christian areas still under ISIS control will also be liberated. We hope that the Christians IDPs will soon return to their homes. I urge Christians against emigration. We must live together and enrich our tradition of peaceful co-existence and tolerance.”
For Supporting Shangal and Kubanie Pepole Nazem Dabbagh Appreciated Seyyed Ali Salehi
ANA Press: according the report of ANA press and of Kurdistan Region Office of Iraq in Iran, the representative of KRG in Iran accompanied by several people from Negara Press of Kurd came to visit Seyyed Ali Salehi, the famous Iranian poet yesterday and appreciated his spiritual support from Iraqi and Syrian Kurds.
After ISIS’s attack to Kurds of Iraq and Syria, Seyyed Ali Salehi made hid poets ‘’Till Shangal ’’, a lament for Shangal Kurds, ‘’ With Kubanian Mothers” and “Oppression of Kubanie” for Kubanian Kurds resisting in Kubani as well as “The Uncle of Rains” for Jalal Talibani public. In this visit Seyyed Ali Salehi reminding some memories of his journey to Kurdistan and his relations with Kurds of Iran Iraq astonished Kubani resistance. In addition after an analysis of how ISIS appears and some regional countries affected in forming this terrorist group praised his support from Kurds resistance against ISIS and as the representative of Kurdish people gave him one of the crafts of Kurdistan of Iraq.
President Barzani Meets US Senator John McCain
President Masoud Barzani today met with US Senator John McCain in Erbil to discuss bilateral relations and the fight against ISIS terrorists.
Senator McCain said the purpose of his visit to Kurdistan is to see firsthand the situation on the ground, particularly with regard to the fighting with ISIS terrorists. He commended the role of President Barzani and the peshmerga forces for inflicting heavy defeats on the ISIS terrorists, adding that the US government and people would continue to back Kurdistan in this fight.
President Barzani thanked the United States government and people for their continued support to Kurdistan. He also thanked the United States for its support of the joint effort by the peshmerga and local fighters in the Syrian Kurdish city of Kobane to defend the city.
Mohammad Seddigh Ahmad (Jegarkhwein) in talk with Arman Press: we Need Military Weapons and Equipment

About the decision made by the foreign minister of Iran to travel Kurdistan Region and its accomplishments he said Mr. Zarif’s travel is considerable for establishing a consensus between Kurdistan and the central government to confront with ISIS. Mentioning Masoud Barzani’s statements he said Iran has always supported the people, the government and Kurdistan Region of Iraq in tough days.
Dr. Ahmad concerning the charge brought by some foreign countries about Iran’s military interference in Iraq to confront ISIS said as far as he knows such a request has not been made from Iran. In addition Kurdistan region forces of Iraq especially Mr. Barzani announced that they need military weapons help and it was Iran the first country which helped. ‘As per the current situations in the region and the type of ISIS confrontation with KR of Iraq we do not need Iran to interfere’ he said.
About the option of military like Syria to confront ISIS he said basically the condition of Iraq is different with Syria. The crisis of Iraq has political root and Syria does security and military. Nevertheless Dr. Ahmad knows the root of these problems in mismanagements of Mr. Maliki. He continued to say that he does not think that military interference can solve the problem. International communities can confront this terrorist group by controlling the financial sources, commuting and their accessibilities of equipment.
In a response to question about the countries trying to fan Iranophobia he answered this roots in regional competition and the difference of countries’ benefits. Therefore he believes that if Iran can make a balance between political forces in Iraq it will be more successful. Accordance with the official policy of Iran the government preferred by Iraqi people, Kurdistan Region and any kind of agreements between both sides are supported by Iran which should be appreciated.
