I offer my warmest congratulations to the Chaldeans, Assyrians and Syriacs who celebrate Akitu, the Babylonian-Assyrian New Year in Kurdistan, Iraq and around the world. I wish them success and a happy holiday.

On this occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to continue protecting equality, human rights and liberties, and consolidating peaceful coexistence, mutual acceptance and tolerance among all religious and ethnic communities in Kurdistan. We reassure our Christian sisters and brother, and all other communities, that the Kurdistan Region will remain the homeland of everyone.
