Baghdad, Iraq, April 8, 2023
President Nechirvan Barzani met with the US Ambassador to Iraq Ms. Alina Romanowski in Baghdad this evening.
The meeting discussed US relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, joint cooperation between them and the agreement between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi Federal Government on oil exports, which both sides considered as a positive development.
Ms. Romanowski underscored that US attaches importance to the Erbil-Baghdad dialogue and the resolution of the outstanding issues between them, reaffirming the continued support of the United States to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Other issues of common interest were also discussed at the meeting.ا
